      About Dr Robinson

      Dr Robinson trained in Newcastle upon Tyne 1975-1980, had postgraduate experience in general medicine and haematology before specialising in genitourinary medicine and HIV in London and Sheffield. She was appointed to her present position in January 1989. In her NHS post she undertakes general clinics for diagnosis and management of sexually transmitted infections (STI), and a consultant referral clinic for female patients.

      Her research interests include chlamydia trachomatis, STI in children, candida, anogenital warts and HPV. She has published widely including for Women’s health journals and been asked as an expert on various panels.

      NHS & Academic Posts

      Dr Robinson was elected FRCP in 1996 and has had several roles at the Royal College of Physicians of London including chair of Specialty committee. She is heavily involved in training the specialists of tomorrow with educational roles at Trust and national level. She was President of the Medical Society for the Study of Venereal diseases 2001-3 and then elected the inaugural President of the British Association for Sexual Health and HIV 2003-6.

      Dr Robinson has over one hundred publications, authored several book chapters for UK and USA books. Her research interests included genital warts, candida, chlamydial infections and infections in adolescents and children. She has written articles on Women’s health. She has acted as an expert for various panels and advisory committees.
