About Dipesh Patel
Dr Dipesh Patel is a consultant physician with a great specialty in endocrinology, diabetes and acute medicine. Within endocrinology, his specialist interests include type 2 diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease prevention and thyroid and parathyroid disease.
He achieved his qualification at St Georges Hospital in 1998 and then underwent endocrinology training in Northwest London. He also achieved a PhD at Imperial College London through undertaking research into the effect of glucose and diabetes on cellular cholesterol export, more specifically HDL-C in individuals with Type 2 Diabetes.
NHS and Academic Posts
Dr Patel worked at University College Hospital and Hammersmith Hospital and then from 2013 and currently he is working at the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust. He also supports the Endocrinology team and consults about his expertise on Diabetes to GPs in Camden.
He consults on endocrinology and diabetes management and provides clinical care to his patients. He also holds the position as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at UCL where he works on clinical trials and is also an Undergraduate site lead teacher of Endocrinology at the Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust.
