About Mr. Mitry
Mr. Mitry’s interests are cataract surgery, lens exchange, medical and surgical retinal disease and treats various eye diseases and other optical injuries. He has over 10,000 cataract, vitreoretinal and laser procedures under his belt.
Mr. Mitry is an internationally published journalist writing on topics such as Archives of Ophthalmology and Retina. Along with his writing, he has received many large grants to continue his research and surgical training.
He received his medical and surgical education at Trinity College Dublin with honours in 2005. He then started his clinical training at Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital in Dublin. He then spent time in Scotland completing Ph.D. in epidemiological, clinical, and genetic associations of retinal detachment at the University of Edinburgh. Post Ph.D., Danny Mitry moved back to London to be named a vitreoretinal fellow at Moorfields Eye Hospital.
