London Medical offers a discreet sexual health screening service led by our General Practitioners.
A full range of comprehensive range of STI tests for both men and women. You may prefer to select one or a group of tests which will be carried out at your consultation. Your doctor will be able to advise you at your consultation which tests would be the most appropriate.
Tests at London Medical include:
Through a blood sample:
- HIV 1 & 2 Duo test (from 4 weeks post-contact)
- Hepatitis A, B & C profile, Hepatitis C antibodies & LFT's
- Syphilis
Through a swab or urine sample:
- Chlamydia + Gonorrhoea DNA by PCR
- Cystitis / Prostatitis
- Candida
- Herpes
- Mycoplasma genitalium
- Ureaplasma urealyticum/parvum
- Trichomonas and Gardnerella vaginalis
Your Consultation
During your consultation, the doctor will take a relevant medical history and may undertake a medical examination if you have any symptoms. You will be counselled and advised about the tests you wish to have carried out and if they (the tests) are positive, how your future medical care can be developed.
Results
London Medical will endeavour to prepare your results and inform you as quickly as possible. Depending on the tests, this will take between 2 and 8 working days. Normally we will telephone you with your results as soon as we receive them, however IF you wish to make other arrangements please tell us what you would like to do instead. Rapid HIV testing results are available within 6 hours of your appointment.
If a repeat test is required or the test is positive, we will phone you to arrange a convenient time for a London Medical doctor to talk to you after which, if you wish, your tests will be confirmed to you by post.
