A cataract develops when the lens in the eye becomes opaque. This occurs during the ageing process in many people, but diabetes can significantly accelerate the onset of cataract. If a cataract develops the only effective treatment is operative surgery - which is very successful in restoring vision. Carefully-monitored control of diabetes will delay the onset of cataract.

At London Medical, we provide a Cataract assessment and postoperative care service.
