Mr. Victor Chong is Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon, Honorary Senior Lecturer and Head of Laser and Retinal Research Unit in King’s College Hospital, London. He is also the Head of the Regional Photodynamic therapy unit for South East London and West Kent. Mr. Chong is a member of the prestigious Macular Society. He had written several ophthalmic textbooks, including “Medical Retina”, “Clinical Ocular Physiology”, Retinal Chapters in “Atlas of Clinical Ophthalmology”, Laser Chapter in “General Ophthalmology” and over 50 other publications. | ![]() |
Raphael Cooper is London Medical's Optometrist. He studied Optometry at the University of Manchester and is now registered with the General Optical Council as well as being a member of the College of Optometrists. Mr Cooper takes special interest in the clinical side of Optometry with particular emphasis in diabetes and glaucoma. He is involved in the Government's diabetic screening program. Melanie Corbett undertook her training in Oxford and then in London, at St. Thomas’ Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital. She undertook research for a higher degree on wound healing in the cornea after refractive surgery, and wrote a book about corneal shape and its measurement. She now specializes in diseases of the cornea and ocular surface (including corneal transplantation), cataract, and surgery of the anterior segment (front of the eye). Miss Corbett is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at the Western Eye Hospital. |

His research interests include cell transplantation for macular and retinal dystrophies, translocation surgery for AMD and gene therapy for inheretid retinal dystrophies. |
Mr Zdenek Gregor is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Moorfields Eye Hospital with responsibility in both medical retina and vitreoretinal services. He has an international reputation in both and is President of the European Society of Ophthalmology. He was Director of the Medical Retinal Service at Moorfields for over 20 years (1982-2003). |

Sheng Lim is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at St Thomas' Hospital in London. He undertook his general ophthalmology and glaucoma training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital and had further training in Glaucoma at the Mayo Clinic in the USA. He has a doctorate degree from his research into glaucoma surgery from the University of London and now specialises in glaucoma and cataract surgery. |
Mr Little qualified in 1983 at Cambridge University Medical School. He was appointed to the Royal Free and Whittington Hospitals in 1994. His particular interests are in cataract surgery and glaucoma. He runs post graduate training courses in small incision cataract surgery at European and International meetings. In common with the other members of the eye department, he has an active interest in under graduate and post graduate teaching and is now a facilitator on the TIPS course. |
Mr Tufail's area of specialism is Medical Retina and uveitis. He qualified in 1989 and carried out his medical training at Guys Hospital Medical School and Moorfields Eye Hospital. Mr Tufail then spent 2 1/2 years at the Jules Stein Eye Hospital in Los Angeles undertaking clinical training in uveitis as well as completing a higher research degree during this time. He did a 2 year fellowshhip in medical retina at Moorfields as well as a period of time at the Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville. Current areas of interest are new treatments for choroidal neovascularisation (specifically associated with age-related macular degeneration) and diabetic retinopathy. He has extensive clinical experience in photodynamic therapy and conventional laser for treating retinal conditions. Mr Tufail is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologist and a Consultant Ophthalmologist Moorfields Eye Hospital. |
