Dr Martha Ford-Adams
Consultant Paediatrician, Kings College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and lead consultant for children and young people with diabetes (appointed Nov 2004). Previously at Princess Royal University Hospital (appointed May 2001). Special interest in diabetes, particularly hypoglycaemia. Prior to appointment as a consultant research fellow for Prof David Dunger at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge, her main research interest was nocturnal hypoglycaemia in children and she carried out a randomised trial looking at the role of insulin lispro, the new rapid acting analogue in reducing this problem. Other research interests include cerebral oedema and DKA, engagement of young people with diabetes, and the genesis and prevention of complications |
