Dr Catherine Lunken

Dr Catherine Lunken  MA BM BCh FRCP  specialises in seeing patients with diabetes and lipid disorders at University College London Hospitals. After qualifying at the Middlesex Hospital and Oxford University, she trained extensively in general medicine and cardiology at University College Hospital, The National Heart Hospital and the London Hospital before concentrating on diabetes. She is currently the Clinical Lead for Familial Hypercholesterolaemia. (FH)  at the Hospital and also for the medical students attached to the Diabetes and Endocrinology department. She has an interest in the training of future specialists and sits on the relevant committees at the Royal College of Physicians and the British Medical Association. Her research interests centre around abnormal liver function in patients with insulin resistance, premature coronary artery disease and screening for FH. She is a member of The Association of British Clinical Diabetologists and of Diabetes UK.
