Dr Palferman is a London-trained consultant rheumatologist and specialist in osteoporosis and other metabolic bone diseases. He offers a comprehensive clinical service in all aspects of musculoskeletal disorders, particularly for those with, or at risk of, osteoporosis. He has been involved in clinical research for twenty-five years and has presented original work internationally. His NHS team won the Hospital Doctor UK Osteoporosis Unit of the Year Award. He is immediate Past-President of the section of rheumatology at the Royal Society of Medicine, has chaired the British Society for Rheumatology's clinical affairs committee, is an expert adviser to NICE, scientific adviser to the National Osteoporosis Society and an examiner for the MRCP at the Royal College of Physicians, London. In addition, Dr Palferman has published and lectured widely on Beethoven's medical history and is listed among Tatler's top private doctors in Britain for 2005 and 2006. |
