An insight into gut hormones by Dr Carel Le Roux
November 18th, 2008
On 29 October 2008, Dr Carel Le Roux, Consultant in Metabolic Medicine at Imperial College Hospital, gave an insightful presentation at London Medical on ‘Gut hormones – a cure for the obesity epidemic’. Dr Le Roux has made contributions in the field of physiology and exposed underlying mechanisms of obesity in animal modules.
The event was well attended by consultants and general practitioners who were interested to hear about Dr Le Roux’s experience and knowledge of hormones produced in the stomach, pancreas and distal small bowel and how he has established their roles and mechanism of action in appetite control in obesity, under nutrition and after weight loss achieved with bariatric surgery.
This event was kindly supported by an educational grant from Lilly.
